Four years ago, Amanda Brown scored on a last-second layup to give Sheldon a dramatic victory over Ashland in the first round of the Class 4A state girls basketball tournament in Portland.
Since that game, however, the Irish have known nothing but disappointment in the postseason.
They lost sub-tournament games at home against Jesuit and Ashland the following two seasons, and last year was even worse as they failed to make the playoffs despite a 10-6 league record.
