AUSTIN, Texas - Amanda Brown cleared 40 feet in the triple jump and took third place as a group of seniors led the University of Oregon in the third day of action at the Texas Relays on Friday.
Georgette Mayle was third in the pole vault, and Mary Etter added a seventh-place finish in the discus.
Brown, a Sheldon High School graduate, leaped farther than 40 feet for the third straight week and fourth meet in her career. She saved the best mark of her career for her final jump Friday and finished third at 40-9 1/2 .
Holding on to fourth position all-time for the Ducks, Brown also inched closer to the Ducks' third-best all-time performer, Kim Carlisle (41- 1/2 , 1992).
