Top-seeded Matt Hanlin cruised to an easy 6-1, 6-0 victory in the round of 16 and then beat No. 8 seed J.J. Jackson 6-2, 6-1 on Friday to advance to today's semifinals of the men's open singles at the Pacific Continental Bank Tennis Championships.
