Disappearing pond upsets neighbors

JUNCTION CITY - Call it Keck Lake or Flat Creek or whatever you want, but the small pond under the bridge below Highway 99 on the north end of town has been a popular spot for beavers and ducks and turtles, along with area families, for years.
But now it's drying up, leaving an unsightly mess of exposed rocks, trees and old tires.
The culprit? A repaired water line, according to the city.
Although some residents here believe the state Department of Transportation's $5.1 million road improvement project along Ivy Street is to blame, it's not, according to ODOT.
