Doris Bell
A celebration of life will be held this fall for Doris Adelaide Bell of Corvallis, formerly of Eugene, who died Aug. 22 of age-related causes. She was 83.
Bell was born Oct. 10, 1919, in Coos Bay to Joseph and Gertrude Rooney. She married Harry Maxwell in January of 1940. He died in 1967. She married Homer Gibson in 1970. He died in 1971. She married Jack Bell in 1972. He died in 2000.
Bell graduated from Marshfield High School in 1938. She moved to Reedsport after World War II and lived in Eugene from 1960 until 1999, when she moved to Corvallis to be near her daughter.
She retired from the University of Oregon Department of Art Education.
