A teacher's lasting lessons
It was with a great deal of sadness that I noted the passing of Eleanor Wheeler of Noti. A copy of her obituary was sent to me by my sister who is a resident of Elmira. I was raised in Noti, attending grade school in the old blue schoolhouse, high school in Elmira and, finally, the University of Oregon. I moved to Denver in 1967 and recently retired after 35 years in the oil business.
Mrs. Wheeler was the largest single influence in my academic life and, I believe, influenced my entire career. I am not alone in this assessment.
