Media poll puts UO fourth

Oregon was picked to finish fourth and Oregon State 10th in a poll of media attempting to predict this season's Pac-10 men's basketball season.

Released Thursday at the annual Pac-10 basketball media day in Los Angeles, the poll picked Arizona to defend its regular-season title, with 26 of the 35 voters putting the Wildcats first on their ballot, for a total of 339 points out of a possible 350. Stanford was second with 321 points and seven-first place votes.
Cal, picked to finish third, and USC, voted fifth behind the Ducks, each were first on one ballot. The media prediction then went to UCLA in sixth followed by Arizona State, Washington, Washington State and OSU.
