Name-calling isn't helpful
I have many friends of high morals, active consciences and real integrity. Some are sincerely liberal. Some are equally sincerely conservative but would never support the accusations made by James T. Bryant (letters, June 12).
I thank God that Bryant has but one vote, and that I have one vote with which to negate his.

Show civility when disagreeing
In the 46 years I've lived in the Eugene/Springfield area, I've written a total of three letters to the editor and only when I have a strong reaction to something I've seen or read. This makes the fourth.
