"Vanities," a bittersweet comedy about three small-town Texas girls growing up in the 1960s and '70s, will open Wednesday in the University of Oregon's arena theater, 104 Villard Hall, 1109 Old Campus Lane.
OPENING THIS WEEK
Directed by theater arts doctoral candidate Elizabeth Helman, the University Theatre Second Season production will run through Nov. 6.
In "Vanities," playwright Jack Heifner traces 10 years of social evolution through the girls' views on college, friendship and their place in the world. The play also explores the competition and manipulation among the friends and the insecurities of growing up.
