Boock helps Duke eight row to strong finish
South Eugene's Tonia Boock, a junior at Duke University, was a member of the Blue Devils' championship eight women's crew team that placed 11th in the final race of the day at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on Sunday. The Duke crew finished ahead of 30 other boats with a time of 12 minutes, 44.383 seconds over the 2.3-mile course, which was shortened because of poor weather conditions for the first time in the 40-year history of the regatta. The Duke boat placed seventh among crews that compete on the collegiate level.
