For a lot of folks, the annual week-before-Christmas drill goes something like this:

Get up. Fret about everything you haven't done yet to get ready for the holidays. Scramble to work. Take a lunch break. Make a list of everything you haven't done and fret about how in the world you're going to pull it all off. Plow back into the job. Rush home. Eat a lousy microwave meal. Fret about the slabs of fat you've acquired since Thanksgiving.

Hold on, there's more: Drive to the mall, and fret about finding a parking place. Fret when you find out the video game (the one you've been fretting about because it's too violent) that your kid craves is sold out and won't be available until March. Go home. Fret about everything you...
