Firefighters put the fire at the nylon fiber plant of Asahi Kasei Corp. in Nobeoka, Miyazaki Prefecture under control early Wednesday, nine hours after a fire erupted on the first floor and spread throughout the five-story building, the Nobeoka fire department said.
