Lower house panel to summon heads of Mizuho, Softbank, others.

A lower house panel plans to summon Terunobu Maeda, president of Mizuho Holdings Inc., Masayoshi Son, president of Softbank Corp., and Hiroshi Maruyama, president of Aozora Bank, to its meeting Wednesday as unsworn witnesses, committee officials said Friday.

The House of Representatives Financial Affairs Committee is also considering inviting a representative from U.S. rating agency Moody's Investors Service Inc., the officials said.

The lower house panel wants Maeda to explain a massive computer failure that occurred following the April 1 launch of Mizuho Bank and Mizuho Corporate Bank under Mizuho Holdings.
