Australia's tourism body welcomes new discount airline.

SYDNEY, April 3 Kyodo
The Australian Tourist Commission (ATC) welcomed Wednesday the launch of new discount air travel services to be provided by Australian Airlines, a subsidiary of the country's largest airline Qantas.
The federal government body charged with promoting Australia overseas, welcomed the announcement by Qantas on Tuesday that Australian Airlines would begin operations in October this year.
The first stage of the new airline operations will involve launching services in phases between its base in the northern Australian city of Cairns and the Japanese cities of Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya, as well as Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore.
