TonenGeneral Sekiyu K.K., one of the Japanese units of the Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) group, said Wednesday it posted a group net profit of 20.56 billion yen in the year through last Dec. 31.
The major oil refiner and wholesaler did not provide year-on-year percentage changes for the profit over the previous year as the company was not created until July 1, 2000 as a result of the merger of Tonen Corp. and General Sekiyu K.K.
TonenGeneral Sekiyu is the refining and marketing arm of Exxon Mobil's Japanese operations.
The company noted, however, the consolidated net profit figure compares with 7.05 billion yen in the 2000 business year's combined net profit of pre-merger General Sekiyu for the January-June period...
