Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedPublishers demand ABC adds e-papers to audits
New Media Age, May, 2003 by Jonathan Webdale
UK newspaper publishers are upping pressure on the Audit Bureau of Circulation to add digital editions to figures for print sales, as a number of leading broadsheets prepare to launch e-papers this year.
The Times this week joined The Daily Telegraph in confirming plans to launch a digital version of its print edition by the end of May. Both titles are intensifying calls on ABC to add these to print circulation.
The Financial Times and The Guardian are also rumoured to he preparing their own e-papers, lending further weight to the campaign.
Times Newspapers will almost double the subscription fee for Times Online to overseas users when it unveils its e-paper on 28 May. An e-paper version of The Sunday Times is planned for later in the year....
