Parsons Infrastructure & Technology Group Inc. has chosen Northern Power Systems subsidiary Distributed Energy Systems Corp. (10 Technology Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492; Tel: 203/678-2000, Fax: 203/949-8016, email: pes@protonenergy.com) to supply three Northern TelePower remote power systems for the FAA's Capstone Ground Based Transceiver (GBT) Program in Southeast Alaska. Designed to reduce the chances of mid-air collisions and weather- related accidents, the GBTs will transmit critical data such as aircraft elevation and location via satellite to the regional air traffic controllers. The transceivers will be deployed at remote locations around the greater Southeast Alaska area.
