The fishing is good. The weather has been fine and is expected to continue that way. Then you start parting your monofilament mainline.

And not once but several times. It shouldn't happen because the monofilament isn't that old. It's enough to ruin your day.

Lindgren-Pitman, the Pompano Beach, Fla., manufacturer of longline equipment and monofilament line, has recently developed the Super Spool III series of longline spools. They're designed to take care of the line-breaking problem.

The Super Spool III series is the latest in a line of spools that goes back to 1978. That year, Lindgren-Pitman designed the first reel made specifically for monofilament. Previous reels had been built for tarred line.
