Prior to joining FirstEnergy in 2004 as EVP and COO he spent a 34-year career at Wisconsin Energy Corp., where he held numerous positions at its subsidiaries Wisconsin Electric Power Co. and Wisconsin Gas Co., and retired as president and CEO of WE Generation. Also presently serves as president of FirstEnergy Utilities Group. Johnson was SVP of policy and strategic communications for MILCOM Technologies Inc., a military technology commercialization company, prior to founding NetCommunications. From 1992-1999 she served two consecutive terms on the Florida Public Service Commission, responsible for Florida's $ 16 billion water and wastewater, electric, gas, and communications industries. She was also chairperson of Florida Public Service from 1997-1999. Also is a director of Allegheny Energy Inc., MasTec Inc., and Northwestern Corp.
