From 1991-1995 was president of Kerr-McGee Coal, and from 1995-1997 was SVP of oil and gas production. From 1997-2000 served as CEO of Shell Coal Pty. Ltd., in Brisbane, Australia. Most recently was CEO of Anglo Coal Australia Pty. Ltd. Also is a director of Bucyrus International Inc.

Foundation is a major U.S. coal producer. Revenues are $1 billion. Shell Canada produces natural gas, natural gas liquids, and bitumen.
