The Washington Department of Ecology is asking the public to comment on its plan for the final cleanup of the soil in the Fenced Area of Asarco's smelter in Everett.
The 600-acre site is contaminated with lead, arsenic and other metals caused by emissions from the Everett Smelter between 1894 and 1912.
