LAST JUNE, fashion-accessory designer DUCTI, Inc. approached Tyco Adhesives with an unusual request create a new kind of duct tape that the company could use to construct a line of wallets and handbags.

Drawing the company name from its medium of choice for designing these accessories, DUCTI ran into some unforeseen challenges while working with the traditional duct tape offered under Tyco's Polyken brand.
