For a number of years, Dr. Kimberly Young has researched Internet addiction. She has examined the effect of this new addiction upon the family, work site, personal finances and social relationships. She believes that people develop an inordinate attachment to the Worldwide Web in the same way other addictions develop. Her specialty is exclusively computer/Internet addiction.
