ISO 9000 revisions for 1994, anticipated in Jul 1994, will make changes in all five of the contractual and guidance standards, ISO 9000 through ISO 9004. Terminology is clarified and concepts that were previously undefined are spelled out. Three appendices will be added to ISO 9001: an explanation of terms, information on process factors and products, and guidelines on which standards are best for what industries and economic sectors. Other anticipated modifications are also discussed.

Predicting when the 1994 revisions to the ISO 9000 series standard will be published is as risky as guessing when a new version of a popular software will arrive in the stores--everyone has definitive inside information and most of it is incorrect.
