Cytogen, DuPont Merck End Quadramet Agreement.(pain killer)(Brief Article)

Biopharmaceutical maker Cytogen says it has ended a licensing agreement with DuPont Merck for Quadramet, a pain relief drug for bone cancer patients. The companies recently settled a lawsuit brought by Cytogen after DuPont Merck said it would stop marketing the drug (CW, June 5, p. 14).

Under the agreement, DuPont Merck was responsible for manufacturing and marketing Quadramet in the U.S., while Cytogen was responsible for certain regulatory approvals and clinical development of Quadramet for other indications. To date, royalty payments to Cytogen have exceeded total sales of the medication.
