Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan (PCS) says it has acquired an 18% equity stake in Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile (SQM; Santiago) for about $129 million. The acquisition was made through the purchase of 48 million class A shares, says PCS. SQM produces specialty fertilizers, iodine, and lithium, primarily in Europe, Latin America, and North America, and reported sales of $502 million last year.
