The CW75 fell 2.3% for the week ending March 24, in line with broader indexes, amid concerns about terror attacks. Basic chemical stocks decreased 1.6%, outperforming diversified and specialty stocks, which fell 2.3% and 2.4%, respectively.
Sasol's stock topped the leaders list on news that Sasol Chevron has agreed to a $6-billion plan with Qatar Petroleum to expand gas-to-liquids capacity by about 200,000 bbl/day in Qatar. Eastman Chemical's shares rose 2.2%, after the company raised its first-quarter earnings estimates.
