Private equity firm Bain Capital (Boston) says it has completed the acquisition of Rhodia's North American specialty phosphates business, and has named the business Innophos (CW, June 16, p. 8). The company will be headquartered in Cranbury, NJ. Innophos will be operated by the same management team that ran the business at Rhodia, with Randy Gress as CEO.
The business employs approximately 1,100, with manufacturing at Chicago Heights, IL; Geismar, LA; Nashville, TN; Waterway, IL; as well as Port Maitland, ON; and Coatzacoalcos and Guanajuato, Mexico.
