The CW75 Index improved by about 1% for the week ending September 8, in line with broader market indexes, including the Morgan Stanley global composite and Standard & Poor's 500. Chemical shares have been supported by stronger demand, improving margins, and lower feedstock costs in recent weeks, analysts say.
Electronic chemical stocks were among the laggards, reflecting the movement of tech stocks, which went through several rounds of sell-offs this summer, analysts say. Electronic chemical stocks had since rebounded following positive outlook announcements from Nokia (Helsinki, Finland) and Texas Instruments (Dallas).
