Pettit introduces Prop-Koat 6005
Coatings World, August, 2007
The accumulation of algae, fouling organisms and dirt will slow down inflatables and decrease fuel efficiency, according to Pettit Marine Paint. Ordinary antifouling products aren't always suitable for inflatables because they can crack and chip when inflating and deflating the boat. The company's new Prop-Koat 6005 Clear Primer and 6006 Clear Topcoat are designed to keep these craft running fast and smooth.
Applied right out of the cans, the two-part system creates a tight bond to the hull and tubes, as well as non-flexible surfaces. For a clear, glossy finish that resists UV and saltwater damage, up to three coats of Prop-Koat Clear Topcoat can be applied over the primer. This slick finish coat delivers superior protection, as hard and soft fouling are easily wiped off with a sponge or cloth.

Pettit's tough but elastic formula stands up to multiple cycles of inflating and deflating. Versatile Prop-Koat also guards against fouling on props, shafts, rudders, struts, outdrive units, outboards and other underwater metals. Containing no heavy metals, it's nontoxic and environmentally friendly.
