I will be 66 in October and have worked as a drafter designer and engineer since 1958. I was drafted into the U.S. Army Alaska in 1961 and was a Signal Corps drafter 1962/1963. My first job was with Thomas Brother's Maps in Los Angeles, 1958. I got into CAD in 1984 and could see the hand writing on the wall with Versacad, then AutoCAD 1.25, now 20-plus years later it's AutoCAD2005. Since I don't wish to work full-time now or to fight the traffic, I choose to work mostly from home. I now teach and enjoy sharing a 46 year work experience. Most have not ever worked on the board--drafting board, that is. My greatest enjoyment was the three years I worked in CADD technical support at encad.
