2 Digital Pen.(New and Notable Product Design)

Design News, October, 2004

Nokia SU-1B Digital Pen. This digital writing instrument records as it writes and allows wireless data transfer to a cell phone or PC. Digital paper is the key to the pen's store-and-send abilities. The paper is printed with a special digital pattern and tick-style boxes. Using these patterns, the pen changes line color and thickness, chooses the message size, and transmits this data to a Bluetooth-compatible phone or PC. The pen remembers each page for subsequent manual editing and updating. Storing 100 A5 pages in its 1 Mbyte memory, the pen has a recording time of 2 hrs and standby time up to 10 hrs.
