In the motion control IC market, a combination of speed, enhanced hardware and specialized software is adding up to a greater focus on motion itself. From microcontrollers to powerful DSPs, hardware additions such as PWM outputs, quadrature inputs and other hardware resources are designed to assist the developer. And along with hardware, the trend is toward more and better software libraries, so engineers have less to do on their own to create different types of motion.
