Such paranoia is not limited to the left. Neal Knox, former legislative director of the N.R.A., puts the Brussellites to shame. Knox, who was booted out of the N.R.A. for being too extreme(!), outlined the gun nut's ultimate conspiracy in a recent issue of The Shotgun News. His ravings were prompted by Joseph Westbecker's murder spree in Louisville. "With the Senate Judiciary Committee having just passed an 'assault weapon' bill, but with the full Senate vote appearing to be stalled," Knox wrote, "the timing could not have been better for the Gun Control Ghouls."
