Dec. 6: Upon return from Malta, envelopes waiting from Q. w/newspaper clippings about how well he handled attempted coup on Mrs. Aquino in Prez's absence. Had underlined most flattering quotes, i.e.: "Disaster was barely averted in the Philippines when Vice President Dan Quayle had the good sense and sound judgement to call the President for instructions." At bottom of Xeroxes he wrote, Ready for all the work you can give me!" Then he put his phone number. It was the wrong number. He always puts his home phone in Indiana. At 6:00, met for Daily Secret Meeting. Everything set on Operation Adios Amigo. More troops arrive every day in Panama City. Just need Panamanians to provoke us. Hope they do this before invasion on the 20th as that will save us some work.
