Microsoft Touts Its Exchange 2000 Wireless Extension Microsoft Corp. continues to provide hints about the specifics of its Airstream wireless extension for the Exchange 2000 program, scheduled for release this fall. The latest hints came in an Aug. 8 speech that Ben Waldman, vice president of the Mobile Devices Division, gave to Microsoft employees in Mountain View, Calif.
Waldman went into a little more detail about Airstream, as well as the software giant's plans for its smart phone platform, code-named Stinger. Exchange 2000 has been completely revised so it can handle millions of mailboxes at the same time. And with the addition of Web protocols throughout the system, it will become a foundation for collaborative messaging applications. More...
