Industry Makes Another Plea To Lift Spectrum Cap.(Industry Trend or Event)

WASHINGTON--CITIA says it's useless, but several carriers want it to stick around for a few more years. The item: the spectrum cap. The forum: the FCC, which received comments on the possibility of lifting the cap--a move that could happen by the end of the year. CTIA, arguably the most vocal advocate for lifting the spectrum cap, says the United States faces a severe spectrum shortage and the cap has outlived its usefulness.
