Resellers adjust to new world; resellers, MVNOs welcome wider network, prepare for new Cingular brand in some markets.(Retailing)

John Marick has made it through his current situation more than once. As CEO of Consumer Cellular of Portland, Ore., he has been a wireless reseller for eight years, originally reselling services with AirTouch Cellular. He saw AirTouch through the acquisition process that created Verizon Wireless. He also has been a long-time reseller for AT&T Wireless.

Now that AT&T Wireless is being merged into Cingular Wireless, Marick doesn't expect any untoward difficulties as a reseller. Generally, he's looking forward to the wider coverage and stronger network that the merger will create.

"It's truly going to be beneficial to our business to have access to that," Marick says.
