There is little doubt mobile viruses are on an evolutionary fast track, with growing evidence over the past few months that they are mutating from simple "proof-of-concept" experiments into legitimate threats that challenge users and network operators.
In response, antivirus providers are literally mobilizing to answer that upgraded threat. It's an ounce of prevention strategy--the idea is to use past experience in the computer world to come up with safeguards before viruses develop the truly damaging features targeting mainstream mobile users.
