Report raises red flag for ringtone security.(Qpass)(Brief Article)

More than one-third of U.S. and European digital content Websites are unsecured, allowing users to "shoplift" music tracks and download them as free ringtones, according to a study conducted by software provider Qpass. The situation already may have cost the mobile and music industries an estimated $40 million since the beginning of 2004 and could cost an additional $123 million by 2007, according to Qpass.
The company, which, conveniently enough, offers a security solution via its content delivery platform, attributes the problem to the need for enabling users to preview music before they purchase it.
