Public Safety Interoperability: Slowly Gaining Ground.

Interoperability may be a challenge for years to come, but strides are being made.
Five years after the 9/11 terrorist attack and one year after a devastating hurricane season the nation continues to work on communications solutions to help public safety agencies respond to emergencies.
But are we any further along than we were last year or in 2001? The U.S. Conference of Mayors published results of a poll this summer that said 80 percent of the mayors feel they have not received enough federal support to achieve full communications interoperability for first responders.
