The current book is a revised dissertation done at New York University under the combined tutelage of Herrick Chapman and Tony Judt; it is difficult to imagine a better or more qualified paring of mentors than these two distinguished scholars. This book is finely crafted as any book I have read in some considerable time. From start to finish. I found it to be a real joy to read.
