Searching for new revenue streams amid cratering CD sales, music labels can take heart in a quickly evolving mobile music sector. The worldwide mobile digital music market is expected to generate $875 million in 2006, growing to $1.04 billion by 2008, according to Juniper Research. These revenue figures will increase as the number of phones that can store and play music grows, with 194 million units expected to be shipped worldwide in 2006 and 439 million in 2008.
