KIMIA FARMA BOOSTS IODINE PRODUCTION.(Brief Article)(Statistical Data Included)

State-owned pharmaceutical company PT Kimia Farma has increased its production capacity for iodine from 120 tons to 150 tons a year with an additional investment of Rp 10 billion. The company exports 80% of its iodine production and disposes of the rest on the domestic market. The company increases its production capacity by optimizing the productivity of its 14 wells.

The company was prompted to increase its production by growing demand in the world market. The company has set a target for production at 250 tons in 2003.
