TYRE PRODUCERS TURN TO DOMESTIC MARKET.(Brief Article)

The country tyre producers have tended to dispose of their production more on the domestic market rather than in international market. Exports are no longer attractive with the rupiah appreciation against the U.S. dollar. Producers chose to wait and see and for the time being concentrate on domestic sales.

The rupiah appreciation in the past month affected export oriented companies especially those using imported basic material like carbon black. With the rupiah. The association of tyre producing companies (APBI), however, said its members would use local product of carbon black to increase local content.
