Indonesia has a new opportunity to increase exports of processed vegetables to Japan to meet growing demand in that country. Demand for frozen and dried vegetables in Japan is high. That country needed 792,474 tons of frozen vegetables and 38,000 tons of dried vegetables last year and around 90% of the requirement are supplied through imports.

Imports grows by 12% every year. Demand for vegetables in Japan is expected to grow faster especially after the Japanese government is launching a campaign of "back to traditional food".
