Indonesia wins contract to supply 6 million tons of LNG to Japan.(CORPORATE NEWS IN BRIEF)

Indonesia has won a contract to supply 6 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) a year to buyers in Western Japan. Starting in 2010. Currently the oil and gas authority BP Migas and LNG producers in the country are negotiating on prices and the share of the supply from Bontang, East Kalimantan, and Tangguh in Irian Jaya.

Consumers in Western Japan earlier agreed on supply from Indonesia on one contract dual sources. The Japanese buyers want to have a contract with LNG supplied by two sources--Bontang and Tangguh. Bontang is owned by Pertamina and Tangguh is controlled by BP of Britain.
