Goodyear to close factory.(Corporate News In Brief)(Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.)(Brief Article)

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., one of the largest tire makers in the United States, planned to close its factory in Huntsvile, Alabama, by the end of August, 2003 for efficiency. One of the reasons is that business climate is not favorable in that state that imposes high tax with limited support from the government.
In Asia including Indonesia, the market is still goods that the company has no plan to close its factories in the region. Goodyear Indonesia reported income amounting to Rp 582.9 billion in 2002.
