Mitsubishi to build LNG plant in Senoro.(CORPORATE NEWS IN BRIEF)(Brief article)

Mitsubishi Corp. has won a tender to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Senoro in Central Sulawesi. Mitsubishi will be ready to invest up to US$ 800 million in the project to be jointly owned by state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina and PT Medco Energi Internasional, Pertamina Vice President Iin Arifin Takhyan said.

Mitsubishi will be an off-taker of LNG from the project to be completed in 2009, Iin said last weekend. Gas for the LNG plant will be supplied from the Senoro gas field, which has a proven reserve of 2.3 trillion cubic feet. Medco President Hilmi Panigoro said the government has approved plan to exports LNG from the plant to Japan.
