Motorcycle industry sees brighter days in 2007.(INDUSTRY)

The market of motorcycles in Indonesia was hit by slump in 2006 following a drastic hikes in the price of oil fuels late 2005. The country's production of motorcycles shrank from 5.5 million units in 2005 to 4.8 million units in 2006.
In 2007, the market is expected to be brisk again. The Association of Motorcycle Industry (AISI) predicted that the industry will grow by at least 10% this year.
The Indonesian remains potential as the ratio of motorcycles to the population, the fourth largest in the world, is still low with only one person of nine people having a motorcycle as against a ratio of 1:5 in Taiwan, Malaysia and Thailand.
The improvement in the country's economic condition is expected to contribute to the revival of motorcycle...
